Natasha – AM-FM (1983)

Damn! This is some ultra-clean, ultra-high fidelity electroboogie from 1983. Amazingly well produced, the Italians really were ahead of the game when it comes to electronic music, as were of course the Germans. There must be something about fascism that makes great dance music.

This does it for me. I hope shows like this exist as long as I’m alive.

New Musik – Warp (1982)

Interesting English electronic music from the early 80s, and one of the first records to be recorded primarily with digital samplers. Wonder what gear they were using.

a brief rage-induced web design micro rant

so i’ve noticed this trend in many websites over the past year, including some very high-traffic sites, where you’re scrolling down the page like normal, and then after scrolling down like 870 pixels, suddenly one of the elements of the page pops into a popout window or what-have-you and automatically scrolls up the article text like 150 pixels. so your eye has no idea what happens because the words randomly travelled faster than the speed of light to an unknown location, for unknown reasons. not sure if there is a technical term for this but it’s super annoying (to the point i was motivated to write a public notice about it) and should stop being added to sites. i don’t know any where else to register this gripe into the world but i think it makes a sense to post it here given my audience of 1 web designers.
